Latest arrangements for landslide incident at Pak Tam Road
**********************************************************
A landslide occurred at Pak Tam Road near Pak Tam Au in Sai Kung yesterday (June 8). The affected road section is temporarily closed for emergency slope works. The Tai Po District Office (TPDO), together with the Sai Kung District Office (SKDO), the Police, the Transport Department (TD), the Civil Engineering and Development Department, the Highways Department and the Fire Services Department (FSD) had an inter-departmental meeting today (June 9) to discuss on how to assist the affected villagers. The latest arrangements are as follows:

1. The TD had arranged four emergency ferry services between Ma Liu Shui Pier and Wong Shek Pier to facilitate the commuting of villagers living in north of Pak Tam Road and Hoi Ha Village. The ferry services are as follows:
Depart from Ma Liu Shui Pier: 6.30pm/7pm today
Depart from Wong Shek Pier: 6.45am/7.15am tomorrow

Subject to the reopening time of Pak Tam Road, the operating time of the above emergency ferry services will be further extended.

2. To supplement the emergency ferry services, the TD is now arranging the feeder service between affected villages to Wong Shek Pier. For details, please refers to the TD's website or mobile application "HKeMobility".

3. The SKDO continues to open the Sai Kung Jockey Club Town Hall (address: 8 Chan Man Street, Sai Kung, New Territories) as a temporary shelter for people in need today.

The emergency services provided by the FSD and the Police remain unchanged. As Pak Tam Road is still closed, members of the public are advised to avoid going to the affected road section in the weekend to add burden to the traffic.

The Government will monitor the situation closely and render appropriate assistance to residents in need.
