CSB calls on public to conduct three-day rapid antigen tests starting this Friday (with photos/video)
******************************************************************************************
Following the packaging of anti-epidemic service bags, the Home Vaccination Service trial and the enforcement of a "restriction-testing declaration" operation last week, the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) today (April 4) continued to fight against the epidemic as its priority, and distributed the anti-epidemic service bags packaged by CSB staff earlier to residents of "three-nil" buildings in Tsuen Wan. The Bureau also urged residents to conduct rapid antigen tests (RATs) for three consecutive days starting from Friday (April 8).

The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Patrick Nip, the Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Ingrid Yeung, and CSB colleagues formed a 50-person strong team and acted in groups to distribute the anti-epidemic service bags which contain masks, proprietary Chinese medicines, RAT kits, a leaflet with anti-epidemic information and a message card to members of the public.

Mr Nip said, "We participated in the packaging of the anti-epidemic service bags together a few days ago. We were very efficient and outperformed. The CSB also executed a 'restriction-testing declaration' (RTD) operation at a public housing estate in Tsing Yi last Saturday and Sunday, and provided 'one-stop services' - from the RTD operation, registration for Home Vaccination Service, to providing a door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination afterwards, all completed smoothly. This fully demonstrated the great sense of responsibility and the detailed and careful planning by our CSB colleagues.

"Today we are distributing the service bags to the public. We are working with community organisations and volunteers for the same goal of fighting against the epidemic, which also expresses our care for the public, in particular for the grassroots families living in 'three-nil' buildings. I believe each of our colleagues have to learn more about these families' actual situations and living conditions so that we understand their needs in our provision of services and formulation of policies in a bid to roll out policies, measures and services that are helpful to them. I think this is a crucial function of the Government and a mission of every colleague in the Government."

Before the team's departure for the distribution work, Mrs Yeung also encouraged colleagues to focus their efforts in delivering the service bags to the residents. She also called on colleagues to perform a three-day RAT starting this Friday. She said the older area in Tsuen Wan District has more "three-nil" buildings. The action today is very meaningful as the anti-epidemic service bags not only contain RAT kits, medicines and masks, they also carry care and concern from the Central Government to the people of Hong Kong.

The team visited a number of tenement buildings in the vicinity of Chung On Street in small groups to distribute the service bags. Some of the households are living in subdivided units, and the households which received the service bags include persons living alone, families and ethnic minorities, etc.

Mr Nip said, "Apart from conducting RATs on our own, we have to receive COVID-19 vaccination. Members of the public who are yet to receive COVID-19 vaccination should get vaccinated immediately, and for those who have received their first or second doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, they should receive their second or third doses on time so as to maintain the protection conferred by the vaccination. Persons aged 18 or above who have already received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine can receive their third dose three months after their second dose."
