DSW leads departmental team to distribute anti-epidemic service bags (with photos)
**********************************************************************************
The Director of Social Welfare, Mr Gordon Leung, this afternoon (April 4) led a departmental team to distribute anti-epidemic service bags at the transitional housing under the Lok Sin Tong Modular Social Housing Scheme.

Joining the distribution were the Deputy Director of Social Welfare (Services), Mr Kok Che-leung, and colleagues from the Kowloon City and Yau Tsim Mong District Social Welfare Office, including social workers from the Kai Tak Integrated Family Service Centre and two citizen volunteers of the Centre's Male Mutual Support Group.

"Colleagues of the Social Welfare Department have all along been fighting the epidemic at the frontlines along with the public at large. After participating in the packaging of anti-epidemic service bags a few days ago, we have come to the community today to distribute the service bags to around 110 households. I hope the public can enhance their preparedness and overcome the epidemic by making the best use of the supplies in the service bags," Mr Leung said.

He said that, apart from proprietary Chinese medicines and masks, there are also rapid antigen test kits in the service bags to facilitate members of the public to conduct testing on their own on three consecutive days from April 8 to 10. This will help identify cases in the community, which will in turn facilitate the Government's understanding of the overall epidemic situation.

Mr Leung also encouraged colleagues to continue devoting themselves to anti-epidemic work. By fighting the virus together with the community, Hong Kong will return to normality sooner, he said.
