Senior appointments (with photos)

(a) Mr Wong Kwok-hing, Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services, will take up the post of Commissioner of Correctional Services on March 24, 2022, when Mr Woo Ying-ming commences his pre-retirement leave; and
(b) Mr Andy Yeung Yan-kin, Deputy Director of Fire Services, will take up the post of Director of Fire Services on March 26, 2022, when Mr Joseph Leung Wai-hung commences his pre-retirement leave.
Commenting on the appointments of Mr Wong and Mr Yeung, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Patrick Nip, said, "The two appointees have proven leadership and management skills, as well as abundant departmental operational experience. I am confident that they will lead the respective departments in meeting the challenges ahead, including coping with the current severe situation under the fifth wave of the epidemic. "
On the retirement of Mr Woo, Mr Nip said, "Mr Woo has served with professionalism and commitment in the civil service throughout the past 33 years. As Commissioner of Correctional Services, he has led the Department to face many challenges and to excel in providing a secure environment for persons in custody, and helping them rehabilitate and reintegrate as law-abiding citizens. I sincerely wish him a fulfilling and happy retirement."
On the retirement of Mr Leung, Mr Nip said, "Mr Leung has served with zeal and dedication in the civil service throughout the past 36 years. As Director of Fire Services, he has made sustained efforts in enhancing fire fighting and rescue capabilities of the Fire Services Department, and in promoting fire safety in the community as well as providing efficient emergency ambulance services to the public. I sincerely wish him a fulfilling and happy retirement."

Mr Woo Ying-ming

Mr Woo joined the Immigration Department as Assistant Immigration Officer in August 1988. He was appointed as Officer of the Correctional Services Department in February 1989 and was promoted to Senior Superintendent of Correctional Services in January 2011, to Assistant Commissioner of Correctional Services in May 2012 and to Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services in February 2018 before being appointed as Commissioner of Correctional Services since November 2018.
Mr Joseph Leung Wai-hung

Mr Leung joined the Fire Services Department as Station Officer in September 1985 and was promoted to Deputy Chief Fire Officer in October 2013, to Chief Fire Officer in July 2015 and to Deputy Director of Fire Services in February 2017 before being appointed as Director of Fire Services since April 2020.
Mr Wong Kwok-hing

Mr Wong joined the Correctional Services Department as Officer in August 1989 and was promoted to Senior Superintendent of Correctional Services in August 2014 and to Assistant Commissioner of Correctional Services in August 2017 before being appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services since November 2018.
Mr Andy Yeung Yan-kin

Mr Yeung joined the Immigration Department as Immigration Assistant in November 1989. He transferred to the Fire Services Department in April 1992, and was promoted to Deputy Chief Fire Officer in July 2015 and to Chief Fire Officer in January 2017 being appointed as Deputy Director of Fire Services since April 2020.
