Outsourced worker at DH's Travel Health Centre (Hong Kong) tested preliminarily positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus

     The Department of Health (DH) today (February 20) said that an outsourced cleaning worker who works at its Travel Health Centre (Hong Kong) located at 18/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, has tested preliminarily positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The centre and the connecting Cremation Permit Office (Hong Kong) will be closed tomorrow (February 21) for thorough cleaning and disinfection.

     The outsourced worker mainly performs cleaning duties at the Travel Health Centre (Hong Kong) and the Cremation Permit Office (Hong Kong) and wore face mask while performing duties. She had COVID-19 test on February 17 and the result was negative. She last performed duties on February 18 and developed symptoms on the same day. She underwent testing on the next day (February 19) and tested preliminarily positive. 
           
     The DH's Centre for Health Protection's epidemiological investigation is ongoing. The DH is highly concerned about the COVID-19 situation and has reminded all staff again to maintain personal hygiene and remain vigilant at all times. If feeling unwell, they should seek medical attention immediately.
