Two Social Security Field Units temporarily closed due to suspected cases

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) today (February 13) announced that, due to the occurrence of suspected COVID-19 cases among staff members, the Lai Chi Kok Social Security Field Unit on G/F and 1/F of Cheung Sha Wan Community Centre and the Yuen Long (East) Social Security Field Unit on 6/F of Yuen Long Government Offices and Tai Kiu Market will be temporarily closed until further notice.

A thorough cleaning and disinfection has been arranged at the premises concerned. All staff of the two field units will undergo COVID-19 testing and work from home while waiting for the results. For enquiries, members of the public may contact the Lai Chi Kok Social Security Field Unit (Tel: 2720 8613), the Yuen Long (East) Social Security Field Unit (Tel: 2477 2351) or the Yuen Long (West) Social Security Field Unit (Tel: 2443 2500) during office hours.

During the pandemic, the SWD has been strictly implementing various disease prevention measures, including measuring the body temperature of people entering the office and providing masks and other personal protective equipment for staff. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
