Special traffic arrangements in Wong Tai Sin

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements from February 1 to February 16 to facilitate worshippers visiting the Wong Tai Sin Temple during the Lunar New Year period. Police reminded members of the public to observe regulations on group gatherings and mask wearing in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Special traffic arrangements

     The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented from 7am on February 1 to 00.01am on February 16:

A. Road closure

- Shatin Pass Road between Lung Cheung Road and Fung Tak Road will be closed, except for green minibuses;
- The unnamed road connecting Wong Tai Sin Road and Wong Tai Sin Temple will be closed, except for coaches, and vehicles with valid monthly parking ticket, designated vehicles entering and leaving the construction site of Sha Tin to Central Link, and designated vehicles of Sik Sik Yuen.
 
B. Traffic control
 
     Vehicles cannot park or wait at Wong Tai Sin Road between Shatin Pass Road and Nga Chuk Street, except for taxi passengers alighting at the temporary taxi drop-off point at Wong Tai Sin Road westbound.
      
C. Temporary taxi stand

     The taxi stand on the eastern kerbside lane of the above section of Shatin Pass road will be suspended. Temporary taxi drop-off point will be provided on Wong Tai Sin Road westbound opposite Chui Yuen House.

D. Suspension of car parks

     Wong Tai Sin Public Transport Terminus Car Park will be closed from 7pm on January 31 to 00.01am on February 16.

     Members of the public are advised to make use of public transportation to go to Wong Tai Sin Temple, and avoid going to Wong Tai Sin Temple during peak hours.

     Police will continue traffic enforcement action during the Lunar New Year period, including issuing fixed penalty tickets or towing away illegally parked vehicles without prior warning.

     Implementation of one-way pedestrian flow and traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Members of the public are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of police on site.
