A spokesman for the Food and Health Bureau said today (October 8) that following the liaison with the relevant authorities of the United Kingdom (UK) on COVID-19 vaccination records, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) was notified today by the UK authorities that Hong Kong's updated vaccination records meet the relevant local requirements, and that the UK Government would recognise Hong Kong's updated vaccination records with effect from 4am on October 11 (UK time) for travel to England.
      
     Information on the date of birth and sex of the vaccine recipient, as well as the manufacturer of the vaccine the person received have been added to the COVID-19 vaccination records issued by the HKSAR Government since September 29, with a view to meeting the travel rules (including vaccination requirements) that are becoming more commonly adopted by some overseas jurisdictions. The relevant update is applicable to both paper and electronic records. The Government has made arrangements to provide the updated records to persons who have already been vaccinated, so as to facilitate the public's travel needs (see separate press release).
      
     The spokesman reminded the public that the UK Government has implemented new quarantine requirements for travelling to England from October 4 local time. The public should refer to the latest requirements as announced by the UK Government, and to note the COVID-19 vaccine recognised by the UK authorities for entry purposes.
      
     Members of the public who wish to travel to places outside Hong Kong should check before departure the destination's entry quarantine rules, including vaccination requirements, and that the latest announcement by the destination's government shall prevail.
