eHRSS and eHealth App registered users exceed 4 million and 1.2 million respectively
************************************************************************************
The Food and Health Bureau (FHB) announced today (August 20) that registered users of the Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHRSS) have reached 4 million, meaning that more than half of Hong Kong citizens have registered for the eHRSS. The number of registered users for the eHealth App has also exceeded 1.2 million.

To further facilitate registration for the eHRSS by the public, since late June, with the identity authentication function of the one-stop personalised digital service platform "iAM Smart", members of the public can complete the entire eHRSS registration process and verify their identity online. They can then gain access to eHRSS services, including logging in to the eHealth App to access personal electronic health records.

The eHealth App is a simple, integrated electronic platform enabling eHRSS users to view part of their key electronic health records, including COVID-19 vaccination records, medications, appointments, allergies and adverse drug reactions, as well as providing the latest public health information and messages.

To encourage members of the public to proactively manage their health using the eHealth App, the eHealth App added new functions at the end of July, allowing users to record their daily blood pressure and blood sugar index, which can facilitate the monitoring of changes in their physical conditions. The users can also show the indices to healthcare professionals for reference during check-ups to reduce consultation times. The General Outpatient Clinic Public-Private Partnership Programme of the Hospital Authority and District Health Centres, which are being gradually set up in various districts, also encourage and assist patients who have joined the relevant schemes to use the eHealth App, with a view to further increasing their awareness of disease prevention, assisting them to record their blood pressure and blood sugar index, as well as enhancing their ability to manage their own health in order to tie in with the Government's primary health policies and reinforce "prevention is better than cure".

A spokesman for the FHB said, "The eHRSS is an electronic platform developed by the Government that enables registered healthcare providers in both the public and private sectors, with the informed consent of the registered patient and proper authorisation, to view and share the patient's electronic health records. The eHRSS aims to encourage public-private collaboration, facilitate continuity of care and enhance the efficiency and quality of healthcare services. We encourage members of the public to use the eHRSS and eHealth App proactively. The latest information can be found on the designated website www.portal.ehealth.gov.hk/app/index.html."
