The Hong Kong Deposit Protection Board today (July 21) published its Annual Report for 2020-2021. The Report highlights the key achievements of the Board in 2020-2021, reviews the operations of the Deposit Protection Scheme during the year and outlines the Board's plan for 2021-2022. Despite the operational challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic over the past year, the Board had remained active in publicity and community education activities to reinforce public understanding of the Scheme, while further enhancing its payout efficiency by introducing electronic payment channels for disbursing compensation to depositors in the event of a payout.
