A chainman of Housing Department tests positive for COVID-19

     The Housing Department today (December 10) learnt that a chainman has been tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). He has been admitted to the Community Treatment Facility in AsiaWorld-Expo for treatment.

     His workstation is located at Oi Man Estate, Ho Man Tin which is not open to the public. He has no contact with the public while performing his duties. He last returned to office on December 8.

     He has no recent travel history. He has been wearing masks and following relevant disease prevention measures at work.

     The chainman concerned has been deployed to support land surveying works at the Department's work site in Tuen Mun. The work site and his workstation at Oi Man Estate have been fully cleaned and sterilised in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP). 

     On December 8, another chainman working at the same Oi Man Estate Office of the Department was tested positive for COVID-19. As advised by the CHP, the close contacts of these two confirmed cases will be put under compulsory quarantine.         

     The Department will continue to closely co-operate with the CHP on disease prevention measures and its quarantine work.
