Tenders invited for Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns - Main Caverns Construction

The works mainly comprise:
* construction of a main caverns complex at Nui Po Shan of about 14 hectares in area;
* construction of a secondary access tunnel about 260 metres long;
* construction of a ventilation shaft about 70m deep and a ventilation adit about 660m long;
* construction of two effluent pipes about 2.2m in diameter and about 320m long;
* site formation works at portal areas, including natural terrain hazard mitigation measures and construction of relevant retaining structures; and
* other related works including demolition of staff quarters in the existing Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works, roads and drainage works, construction of a temporary magazine compound, environmental mitigation measures and landscaping works.
The works are scheduled to commence in July 2021 and will take about 67 months to complete.
The DSD has commissioned AECOM Asia Company Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and further particulars from the company at 12/F, Tower 2, Grand Central Plaza, 138 Shatin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin.
The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on February 19, 2021.
