CAD officer tests positive for COVID-19
***************************************
The Civil Aviation Department (CAD) learned that an officer had tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) last night (November 26).

The officer worked at the CAD Headquarters office building and performed support duties without contact with members of the public while at work. He last performed his duties on November 26 and has no recent travel history. He has been wearing surgical masks while performing his duties and has properly maintained social distancing with people he has had contact with. His body temperature was normal when undergoing temperature screening during work.

The CAD will cooperate with the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) in the epidemiological investigation and will arrange the staff working with the officer to undergo COVID-19 testing. The concerned work places will also be fully cleaned and sterilised.

The CAD is concerned about the COVID-19 epidemic. Relevant hygienic measures for infectious diseases provided by the CHP have been strictly adopted. All staff have their body temperatures checked before performing their duties, and wear proper personal protective equipment.

The department will continue to step up the cleaning and sterilising measures for all work locations and remind all staff to strictly comply with the hygienic measures for infectious diseases provided by the CHP. The staff will also be reminded to consult a doctor promptly if they have any discomforting symptoms.
