HKO launches a new set of APIs on storm surge threat (with photo)
*****************************************************************
The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) is launching a new set of TV and radio Announcements in the Public Interest (APIs) on storm surge threats today (November 8) to enhance the public's understanding of storm surges and their awareness of disaster prevention.

Tropical cyclones may come with storm surges, causing serious inundation and damage to coastal and low-lying areas. The public should take timely precautions and stay tuned to the latest warning messages issued by the HKO when tropical cyclones are approaching Hong Kong. The newly launched TV API adopts a combination of cartoon animation and live action in its production. The HKO mascot, Dr Tin, also makes his first appearance in the HKO's TV API.

The new TV API is now available on the HKO's webpage and can be viewed at the following link: youtu.be/gVtlk6xdMh4.
