Director of WHETO visits Chibi in Xianning Municipality of Hubei Province (with photos)

The Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Wuhan (WHETO), Mr Vincent Fung, visited Chibi in Xianning Municipality, Hubei Province, on October 28 and 29. He first met with the Vice Mayor of Xianning Municipality, Ms Wang Fanfei, and the Mayor of Chibi, Mr Dong Fangping, to introduce the role of the WHETO and the latest developments of Hong Kong, and learn about the situation of the economy and industries of Chibi in general. Mr Fung said that given the proximity of Xianning to Wuhan and the established tourism infrastructure, visitors from Hong Kong could be encouraged to visit Xianning and Hong Kong business people could consider investing in areas such as agriculture and tourism.

Subsequently, Mr Fung attended the welcome dinner and opening ceremony of the 2019 Belt and Road Forum for International Tea Industry Development and the Fifth Chinese Tea Industry Conference, toured the ancient village of Yang Lou Dong, visited a Hong Kong-invested enterprise, and attended a lunch hosted by the Chibi High-tech Industrial Park Administrative Committee.
