Updated traffic and public transport situation
The Transport Department (TD) today (October 21) reminded members of the public to pay attention to the traffic situation and the latest public transport service arrangement this morning before starting their journey.

As at 5.30am, the latest public transport situation is as follows:

All MTR lines maintain services. However, some of the entrances/exits of individual MTR stations will suspend service as the recovery work is still in progress.

Yuen Long Station on the West Rail Line will be closed starting from 2pm. Trains will not stop at Yuen Long Station.

Except the Airport Express Line, the train service will end at 10pm.

In addition, Light Rail Route 751 will not stop at Yau Oi.

(II) Franchised bus, Ferry and Tramway

All franchised bus services, ferry and tram services remain normal.

The operation of the traffic lights damaged since October had been fully recovered last week. Out of the total 100 sets of traffic lights damaged or disrupted again yesterday (October 20) , 93 sets have yet to resume operation. They are mainly located in Yau Tsim Mong District including Nathan Road, Canton Road, Mong Kok Road, Jordan Road, Argyle Street and Waterloo Road. Traffic light is an important system to maintain road safety. The TD has liaised with relevant departments to conduct repair works since last night, when the conditions are safe and practicable. It is expected that the repair works for the damaged traffic lights will take some time to complete. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to be patient and pay extra attention to road safety when passing through the affected junctions. The TD appeals to members of the public again to be considerate to motorists and pedestrians, and stop damaging traffic light facilities.

Members of the public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news and allow more time for travel. For details of the above public transport arrangements, members of the public can visit the TD's website or get the information through the TD's mobile application "HKeMobility".
