HKETO, Brussels supports Hong Kong films at International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia in Spain (with photo)

     With the support of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels (HKETO, Brussels), Hong Kong film is well represented again this year at the Sitges 2019 – 52nd International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia taking place in Sitges in Spain from October 3 to 13 (Sitges time).

     Speaking at a reception hosted by the HKETO, Brussels, on October 6 (Sitges time), Deputy Representative of HKETO, Brussels, Mr Sam Hui, said that Hong Kong has a vibrant film industry, thanks to the openness of Hong Kong and the creativity of its people.    

       The Festival screens 10 Hong Kong films this year including five recent titles, and five restored masterpieces directed by King Hu.  Hong Kong film director Johnnie To was invited as one of the festival’s special guests.
 
     Founded in 1968, the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia is the leading fantasy film festival in the world, attracting 200 000 visitors. It also screens films closely related to the fantastic genre, including action and adventure movies and black comedy, with a special emphasis on thrillers.
