FS meets financial officials of Central Authorities in Beijing (with photos)

     The Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, today (September 30) met with financial officials of the Central Authorities in Beijing.
      
     This morning, Mr Chan called on the Governor of the People’s Bank of China, Mr Yi Gang, to discuss a wide range of issues, such as the latest developments of Hong Kong’s financial market, bond market and banking system.
       
     Mr Chan then met with the Chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, Mr Guo Shuqing. They exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including the development of the Hong Kong insurance industry, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s work in monitoring the financial system and ensuring financial stability.
      
     Having met with the officials, Mr Chan will join the Hong Kong delegation for the National Day to participate in activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
