Labour Department to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "First aid in the workplace" at 6.30pm on December 12 (Wednesday). The talk will introduce basic knowledge of first aid and explain how to assist and handle injured employees in workplace accidents through case illustrations. It will be given by the LD's occupational nurse.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Manual handling operations and prevention of back injuries" at 3pm on December 17 (Monday). Given by the LD's occupational health nurse and occupational hygienist, the talk will give a brief account of the structure and functions of the back and explain on the causes and preventive measures of back injuries, as well as proper manual handling operation. Demonstration and practice of workplace exercise will also be included.

     Both talks, conducted in Cantonese, will be held at Activity Room 1, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay. Admission is free. For enquiries or registration, please call 2852 4040.
