Updated traffic and public transport situation after Typhoon Mangkhut

Up to now, the clearance works at most of the major roads have been completed. However, more time is needed to clear the fallen trees on major roads in Sai Kung and the North District such as San Tin Highway, Castle Peak Road – San Tin, San Sham Road, Sha Tau Kok Road, Clear Water Bay Road (some sections), Sai Sha Road and on Prince Edward Road West, Argyle Street, Boundary Street eastbound, Ching Cheung Road (Roundabout to Tai Po Road) and Canton Road South (near CLP station) due to extensive area of tree falling. It is anticipated that the clearance works will be completed by tomorrow.
A spokesman for the TD reminded members of the public that they should pay attention to the traffic situation and the latest public transport service arrangement this morning before starting their journey. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and drive carefully.
As at 4.30 am today, the latest public transport situation is as follows:
(I) MTR Services
Rail services – all rail lines, service normal
Light Rail services – except route no. 751 and 761P, service normal
MTR Bus services – limited services
(II) Franchised Bus Services
Affected by fallen trees and other obstacles, there are 253 bus routes (a total of about 600 routes) maintaining normal services.

As for the remaining bus routes that have not yet resumed services, the service resumption of relevant routes will be announced as soon as possible after the road surfaces have been cleared. The districts without bus services include Sai Sha Road, the Peak, Braemar Hill, Stanley, Tai Tam, Shek O, Wah Kwai Estate, Hing Wah Estate and Fung Wah Estate.
(III) Ferry Services
Except the ferry service between North Point and Hung Hom, all inner harbour and outlying island ferry services resumed normal
