Transcript of remarks by STH
****************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, at a media session after attending the meeting of the Bills Committee on Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (Co-location) Bill today (April 6):

Reporter: What will the Government do to make sure that the trains won't go off tracks when it actually starts service? And in regards to the bridge, what would the Government do to make sure that this will not be problematic or this is not a design fault?

Secretary for Transport and Housing: I am well aware of the concern of the general public in respect of the express rail (the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link) and also the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. The Government and its entire team are committed to look into both subjects. As far as I understand, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao management company (the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority) has, in actual fact, delivered an explanation a few days ago. Our colleagues are in very close communication with them to ascertain the design and to come up with a view so that we could help explain to the general public to assure that the bridge is safe.
