Fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom

About 5.20 am, while Senior Police Constable, Mr Lum Hoi-wan was handling a traffic accident at the scene of East Kowloon Corridor west bound near Fat Kwong Street Flyover, he was knocked down by a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 58-year-old man. Sustaining serious head injuries, he was immediately taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment but was certified dead at 6.04am.
The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
