Over 3 700 vacancies on offer at "Leap into a New Page Job Expo"

     The Labour Department will hold the "Leap into a New Page Job Expo" at Hong Kong Productivity Council Building on March 13 and 14.

     A total of 54 enterprises, mainly from the business services, transport and retail industries, will take part at the expo. Twenty-seven participating enterprises will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day, offering over 3 700 vacancies. Many of them are suitable for job seekers with post-secondary education. In addition, the Hong Kong Police Force and the Immigration Department will set up counters to introduce and recruit Inspector, Police Constable, Auxiliary Police and Immigration Assistant positions. Qianhai International Liaison Services Limited and the Hong Kong-Shanghai Youth Association will also take part and introduce start-up opportunities and entrepreneurship programmes.

     The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as management trainee and graduate trainee for various industries, project engineer, human resources assistant, branch operation manager, passenger services officer, tour planner, interior designer, programmer, programme officer, chemist trainee, testing assistant, marketing officer, nutritionist, clinical officer, registered nurse, clerk and others. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

     Around 74 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $11,000 to $19,000. Around 98 per cent are open to job seekers who have three years or less relevant experience, and are suitable for young people with post-secondary education.

     Job seekers are advised to bring their resumés, and may submit applications on the spot and be selected for on-site interviews.

     The job expo will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Level 4, Conference Hall, Hong Kong Productivity Council Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong. Admission is free.
