Jazz guitarist Mark Leung to host lecture demonstration series

     Local renowned jazz guitarist Mark Leung will host a lecture demonstration series in March and April.
 
     Following last year's highly acclaimed "Getting to Know Jazz" lecture demonstration series, the forthcoming three-lecture series entitled "Is Jazz That Hard?" will introduce participants to the world of jazz improvisation by exploring the music theory, style and accompaniment of jazz music. Jazz bassist Barry Lam and drummer Felix Leung will perform as demonstrators. All of the lectures (to be conducted in Cantonese) will be held at 7.30pm. Details are as follows:

     Mark Leung is an active jazz guitarist in Hong Kong and Macao. Leung was an instructor under the Introduction to Popular Music for the Associate Degree programme of the Hong Kong Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong.
 
     "Is Jazz That Hard?" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Tickets priced at $50 (for each lecture) are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk).
