Appointments to Advisory Committee on Cruise Industry announced

“We are thankful for the invaluable advice and contribution to the work of the ACCI given by Mr Buhdy Bok Sin-swee, Mr William T Ernest, Ms Leong Mei-cheng, Ms Lanny Leung Kong-lan and Mr Stephen Van Wormer, who have retired from the ACCI after the completion of their terms of appointment,” a spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau said.
The ACCI was established in January 2008 to provide advice to the Government on issues relating to the development of cruise tourism in Hong Kong. The number of ship calls and cruise passenger throughput in Hong Kong recorded a growth performance of 245 and 903 084 respectively in 2017, representing increases of 28 per cent and 33 per cent over 2016.
"We will continue to work in close collaboration with the ACCI and other key stakeholders in the cruise trade and travel industry to leverage on the strength of Hong Kong, including our comprehensive aviation network, wide variety of attractions and events, as well as the opportunities presented by the upcoming commissioning of cross-boundary infrastructures, to further promote cruise tourism in Hong Kong and strengthen Hong Kong's position as a leading cruise hub in the region," the spokesman said.
