Police work showcased at Education and Careers Expo (with photos)

     The Police Force is showcasing the multi-faceted and professional nature of its work under the theme "Serve and Protect our Hong Kong" at the four-day Education and Careers Expo 2018 held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wai Chai, starting today (February 1). Latest recruitment information will also be available at the Police recruitment booth.

     During the Expo, a total of 19 Police units and secondary duty cadres, such as Airport Security Unit, Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, Police Band, Emergency Unit, Counter Terrorism Response Unit and Force Search Unit, will take turn to introduce their job duties, uniforms and equipment to visitors.     

     Demonstration sessions of Police units are as follows:

February 1 (Thursday)
2.30pm to 7pm – Hong Kong Police College (including Police Band, Drill & Musketry Unit, Weapons Training Division and Learning Technology Division)

February 2 (Friday)
10.30am to 2.30pm – Force Rope Access Cadre, Force Search Unit
2.30pm to 7pm – Police Negotiation Cadre, Quick Response Force, Police Dog Unit

February 3 (Saturday)
10.30am to 2.30pm – Traffic Police, Marine Police, Emergency Unit, Airport Security Unit  
2.30pm to 7pm – Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Counter Terrorism Response Unit, Airport Security Unit

February 4 (Sunday)
10.30am to 2.30pm – Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, Narcotics Bureau
2.30pm to 6pm – Commercial Crime Bureau, Identification Bureau, Police Dog Unit

     To let members of the public learn more about the Force’s professional training, a number of training programmes, which have been successfully accredited under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework, will be introduced on site. Among them, the “International Executive Development in Policing Programme”, jointly run by the Force and the Canadian Police College, was accredited to meet the Qualifications Framework Level 6 (equivalent to Master degree level) by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications in December 2017.

     Members of the public who are interested in joining the Force may apply at the Police recruitment booth. They will undergo initial screening, including eyesight test, height and weight measurements, and verification of academic qualifications.
