Special traffic and transport arrangements for public procession on Hong Kong Island this Sunday
******************************************************************************************
The Transport Department (TD) today (January 5) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented this Sunday (January 7) to facilitate a public procession on Hong Kong Island.

The special traffic and transport arrangements will mainly include:

* From about 3pm, Queensway eastbound and Arsenal Street northbound will be intermittently closed, while Rodney Street southbound and the Justice Drive flyover will also be closed; and.

* A total of nine bus routes operating in the affected areas will be temporarily diverted. The bus companies will arrange publicity to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements.

The TD anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of Wan Chai and Admiralty will be congested. Motorists are advised to be patient when driving in the vicinity of the affected areas and follow the Police's instructions. Members of the public are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas, use public transport services as far as possible and pay attention to the arrangements of bus diversions and bus stop suspension.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Members of the public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news through the media.

Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements are available at the TD's website (www.td.gov.hk). For enquiries, please call 1823.
