******************************************************************************************
A street art event, a traditional trades fair, a festive lighting switch-on ceremony and a Chiu Chow festival will be held in the coming days as part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

To promote art and creativity, the street art fair Sai Kung Art and About will be held on December 9 and 10 (Saturday and Sunday) from 12.30pm to 6pm in Sai Kung Town Centre. Members of the public are welcome to join this free-admission event.

More than 70 artists will showcase their work and exchange ideas with visitors at booths on Mei Yuen Street during the event. Some artists will conduct mural and ground painting and create art installations on Sha Tsui Path, Man Nin Street and Po Tung Road. Together with students of Sai Kung District, the artists will also decorate lampposts along the Sai Kung Promenade. Some creations by the artists will be exhibited in Sai Kung Jockey Town Hall from December 8 to 12 with exhibition hours from 11am to 8pm.

Apart from the above, a wide array of demonstrations and workshops will be presented, including the creation of a 15-metre-long watercolour painting, Chinese ink painting with Chinese music performance, speed painting, leaf painting and activities to make DIY canvas bags and creative ornaments. A graffiti zone will be set up for visitors to express their creativity on pavements and walls, and musicians will perform to enhance the leisurely atmosphere.

The event is part of the 2017-18 Sai Kung District Music, Arts and Cultural Festival and jointly organised by the Sai Kung District Office, the Working Group on Arts and Cultural Activities under the Sai Kung District Council and the Sai Kung District Community Centre of the Sai Kung Rural Committee.
