LCSD to hold Dance Day at Tuen Mun Town Hall next Sunday
********************************************************
Dance Day, an annual dance carnival presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), will be held at Tuen Mun Town Hall from 1pm to 5pm next Sunday (December 3). Members of the public are welcome to participate and admission is free.

The event will showcase different generations of dance artists and dance groups, joined by local organisations serving persons with physical disabilities and the able-bodied, in a wide variety of dance performances of different genres at Tuen Mun Town Hall and Tuen Mun Cultural Square. With "No Boundary" as the theme, this year's Dance Day aims at demonstrating the adventurous spirit of dancers who have been seeking breakthroughs so as to break the boundary between the dancers and the audience. Local dance artist Andy Wong is the Dance Day Event Advisor.

A variety of entertaining programmes will include a showcase of different dance genres, one-minute flash dance, site-specific flash mob dance, an improvisation area, public square dancing, work-in-progress presentation, workshops and exhibitions. There will also be a "U Can Dance!" free dancing zone, where everyone is invited to join in and enjoy the fun of dancing.

Dance artists and groups in Dance Day include Joseph Lee, Rex Cheng, K T Yau, Blue Ka Wing, Ivy Tsui, Cherry Leung, Allen Lam, Cyrus Hui, the Association of Hong Kong Dance Organizations, the Hong Kong Dance Federation, Dancing Angels, DanceArt Hong Kong, Muse Motion, Passoverdance, R&T (Rhythm & Tempo), Studiodanz, the Hong Kong Ballet Group, the School of Dance of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Tuen Mun Arts Promotion Association, Moments of Recollection, Unlock Dancing Plaza, Y-Space, Shine Dancing Group, Dancing Force and Dancing Heart Troupe.

The LCSD has been holding Dance Day since 2009 with the aim of promoting dance art to the public while at the same time providing a platform for local dance artists and small and medium-sized dance groups to perform. Previous Dance Days were held in Tsuen Wan, Yuen Long, Central and Western District, Sha Tin and Tuen Mun. All received overwhelming public responses, effectively raising public interest - especially among the young generation - towards various forms of dance.
