Live relays of Berliner Philharmoniker at various LCSD venues next week
***********************************************************************
The prestigious Berliner Philharmoniker will stage two long-awaited concerts next week at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) Concert Hall. To allow more audiences to watch the orchestra's performances, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will arrange live relays at the Piazza of the HKCC, Main Plaza of the Sha Tin Park and the Auditorium of Yuen Long Theatre.

The orchestra, under the baton of Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Sir Simon Rattle, will perform Richard Strauss' "Don Juan" and Brahms' "Symphony No. 4 in E Minor" in the first concert at 8pm on November 10 (Friday). The promising pianist Seong-Jin Cho will perform Ravel's "Piano Concerto in G".

The programme for the second concert, to be held at 5pm on November 11 (Saturday), comprises Stravinsky's "Petrushka" (revised version from 1947) and Rachmaninov's "Symphony No. 3 in A Minor", as well as Unsuk Chin's "Chorós Chordón", which was commissioned by the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation Première.

Admission to the live relays is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. Online registration at www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalService/Programme/en/music/programs_362.html is necessary for the relay at Yuen Long Theatre. Audiences are advised to bring a mat or blanket for seating at the outdoor venues. Patrons using wheel-chairs can call 2268 7321 during office hours for reservations.

The concerts are presented by the LCSD. For enquiries on the concerts and the live relays, please call 2268 7321 or visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/cp.
