CS visits Wong Tai Sin District (with photos)

      The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, visited Wong Tai Sin District this afternoon (September 27) to understand the latest developments of the district, including nullah revitalisation and cityscape enhancement projects as well as construction of the Wong Tai Sin Public Transport Terminus.
 
     Accompanied by the Chairman of the Wong Tai Sin District Council (WTSDC), Mr Li Tak-hong, and the District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Ms Annie Kong, Mr Cheung visited the Kai Tak River and was briefed by the Acting Director of Drainage Services, Mr Mak Ka-wai, on nullah improvement works for the river. Mr Cheung said he was pleased to note that the implementation of drainage improvement works, combined with injection of landscaping and ecological elements, is revitalising the Kai Tak River into an urban green river for enjoyment by the community.
  
     Mr Cheung then inspected the improvement work carried out by the WTSDC Working Group on Enhancement of Cityscape Campaign at a back alley in San Po Kong to enhance the cityscape and environmental hygiene. This was followed by a visit to Shatin Pass Road, where he was briefed on the latest construction progress of the Public Transport Terminus.
 
     Before concluding his visit, Mr Cheung met with WTSDC members to carefully listen to their views and have an in-depth exchange on various development issues and matters of concern to the community.
