***********************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

Ballots were drawn today (June 22) for the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA)'s Sale of Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Flats 2017. The Chairman of the HA Subsidised Housing Committee, Mr Stanley Wong, officiated at the ballot drawing.

A total of 2 057 flats from three new HOS developments, namely Choi Hing Court in Kwun Tong and Ngan Wai Court and Ngan Ho Court in Mui Wo on Lantau Island, have been put up for sale in this exercise. The saleable area of the flats ranges from 34.2 square metres to 51.3 square metres. By applying a discount of 30 per cent to the assessed market values, flat prices of the three new HOS developments range from about $1,390,000 to about $3,850,000.

Rescinded flats from five HOS developments, namely Mei Ying Court and Mei Pak Court in Sha Tin, Sheung Chui Court in Tsuen Wan, Ching Chun Court in Tsing Yi and Wang Fu Court in Yuen Long, previously sold in the Sale of HOS Flats 2014 are also offered for resale this time. All rescinded flats recovered from the five developments before commencement of flat selection in August 2017 will also be included for resale in this sale exercise. Up till now, 51 rescinded flats have been recovered and their prices range from about $2,450,000 to about $3,450,000.

In this sale exercise, the income limit for family applicants is $52,000 per month (for a household of two to nine persons) and $52,440 per month (for a household of 10 persons and above). The asset limit for all family applicants is $1.7 million. The income and asset limits for one-person applicants are set at half of the limits for family applicants and therefore are $26,000 and $850,000 respectively.

Some 104 600 applications were received by the HA, of which about 92 100 were White Forms and about 12 500 were Green Forms. The ballot conducted today will determine the priority sequence of the last two digits of the application numbers held by applicants. Based on the ballot result, the order of the applicants under different application categories will be randomly generated by computer. The HA will then accordingly invite White Form applicants to submit supporting documents within a specified period for detailed vetting to determine whether they meet the eligibility criteria and their final priority. According to the category and priority sequence of the eligible applicants, the HA will send notifications in batches to invite them to go to the office of the HOS Sales Unit in Lok Fu for flat selection from mid-August 2017 onwards. Sales brochures covering full details of the developments and price lists will be made available for collection by the public and prospective purchasers at the HA Customer Service Centre (HACSC) in Lok Fu seven days before commencement of flat selection. In addition, electronic copies of these documents will be uploaded to the designated websites for the developments.

Virtual show flat walkthrough videos for the three new HOS developments and videos showing the interior of typical flat types of the rescinded flats are now available at the HA/Housing Department (HD) website for viewing. The videos together with building models, doll houses and panels of the three new development projects will also be displayed at the HACSC for viewing by the public from seven days before commencement up to the end of the flat selection period.

The ballot results have been uploaded to the dedicated webpage on the HA/HD website (hos.housingauthority.gov.hk/mini-site/hos2017/en/ballot.html). The randomly generated order of all applicants will be uploaded to the webpage tomorrow (June 23). It will also be displayed from tomorrow onwards at the HACSC in Lok Fu, the estate offices and District Tenancy Management Offices of the HA, the estate offices of the Housing Society, the Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of the Home Affairs Department and the Sham Shui Po Housing Information Centre. Applicants may also call the HA sales hotline 2712 8000 for enquiries.
