About 2 200 vacancies on offer at Opening Up a New Terrain Job Fair

     The Labour Department will hold the "Opening Up a New Terrain Job Fair" at Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Cultural Centre on June 1 and 2.

     A total of 40 enterprises, mainly from the retail, business services and transport industries, offering about 2 200 vacancies in Mainland and Hong Kong, will participate at the fair. Twenty participating enterprises will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.

     The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as Management Trainee, Technical Trainee, Customer Services Officer Trainee, Passenger Services Supervisor Trainee, Tour Operator, Programmer, Testing Technologist, Building Services Engineer, Human Resources and Administrative Assistant, Marketing Communication Manager, Senior Clerk, Accounts Officer, Assistant Project Engineer, Contractual Program Assistant, Customer Acquisition Officer, Guest Services Officer, and more. Moreover, part-time vacancies such as Service Worker (Park/Hotel), Teaching Assistant, Office Assistant, Cinema Staff and Shop Assistant and more are also available.      Around 79 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $9,000 to $17,000. Around 99 per cent are open to job seekers who have 3 years or less relevant experience. Many vacancies are suitable for young people with post-secondary education and fresh secondary school graduates.

     Job seekers may bring along their résumés, submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.  Qianhai International Liaison Services Limited will set up counter to introduce the development in Shenzhen Qianhai Region, the "2017 Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" and its internship programme for post-secondary students. Hong Kong-Shanghai Youth Association will introduce the "2017 Employment and Entrepreneurship Programme" in Shanghai.

     The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Exhibition Gallery, 4/F Administration Building, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Admission is free.
