Fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan yesterday (April 18) in which a 41-year-old man died.

     At about 10.46pm yesterday, a motorcycle driven by the 41-year-old man was travelling along Island Eastern Corridor towards Chai Wan. When reaching Chai Wan Park, it reportedly hit a stationary light goods vehicle (LGV).

     The motorcyclist was trapped under the LGV and rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, he was rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.20pm.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
