Young guzheng artist Wan Xing to perform in July
     Talented young guzheng artist Wan Xing will give a recital for music lovers in July. Titled "Our Music Talents Series: Wan Xing Guzheng Recital", the performance is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD).

     In addition to traditional pieces, Wan Xing will also perform new works with refreshing tunes. The programme will include "Chanting of Peace", "Butterfly and Blue", "Traditional Henan Tunes", "Philosophy of Space and Time", "Tunes of Hometown", "Autumn Solitude"(Hong Kong premiere), "To Be Oneness", "Capriccio of Western" and "Dharma".

     Wan Xing has received many awards, including the Gold Award (Young Performers Category) at the Second International Guzheng Competition 2011, Best Performance Award 2002 at the First Chinese Folk Instruments Competition organised by the Ministry of Culture, and the Best Teacher Award 2013 at the Third International Zheng Contest.

    Wan Xing is actively engaged in various music activities. In 2010, she founded a non-profit organisation "Inner Music with Meaning Innovative", which has organised and performed many concerts. She has also been invited as a speaker, performer or to conduct masterclasses by many universities in Hong Kong.

     "Our Music Talents Series: Wan Xing Guzheng Recital" will be staged at 8pm on July 28 (Friday) at the Theatre of Hong Kong City Hall.      The LCSD is presenting the Our Music Talents Series to nurture and support local emerging artists and groups and provide them with performing opportunities, enabling them to develop and showcase their achievements.
