STH visits Kwun Tong District (with photos)

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, visited Kwun Tong District this afternoon (February 23) to learn more about the traffic development and community service of the district, and meet with members of the Kwun Tong District Council (KTDC).
 
     Professor Cheung, accompanied by the District Officer (Kwun Tong), Mr Gilford Law, first went to the Energizing Kowloon East Office (EKEO), where he received a briefing about the work of improving the walking environment and traffic situation in Kowloon East from the Head of the EKEO, Ms Brenda Au.
 
     He later paid a visit to the students participating in the 333 Learning Companion Leadership Program at the Buddhist Chi King Primary School. Organised by the We R Family Foundation, the Program provides homework guidance to primary students and encourages them to become self-motivated learners and to develop self-confidence and the willingness to help others through various activities, such as an award scheme.
 
     During the visit to Kwun Tong District, Professor Cheung also met with KTDC members to exchange views on transport and housing issues.
