Special traffic arrangements on Sunday

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate three public events to be held on Hong Kong Island this Sunday (November 27).

(I)

     The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented from 7am to noon:

A. Road closure

- Northbound Edinburgh Place east of City Hall, except vehicles entering City Hall car park;
- Westbound Lung Wo Road, except the slow lane of westbound Lung Wo Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Edinburgh Place; and
- The pick-up/ drop-off and loading/ unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-storey Car Park.

B. Traffic diversions

- Traffic along Edinburgh Place east of City Hall cannot enter Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along Edinburgh Place north of City Hall cannot enter Lung Wo Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Lung Wo Road cannot enter southbound Edinburgh Place;
- Traffic along northbound Legislative Council Road cannot turn left to westbound Lung Wo Road. Affected vehicles will be diverted via southbound Legislative Council Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Lung Wui Road cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Fenwick Pier Street cannot enter westbound Lung Wo Road.

C. Suspension of parking spaces

     All motorcycle parking spaces at the pick-up/ drop-off and loading/ unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-storey Car Park will be suspended.

(II)

A. Road closure

     Queen’s Road West between Belcher’s Street and Praya, Kennedy Town will be closed from 9am to 6pm.

     The following roads will be closed from 1pm to 5.30pm:

- Queen’s Road West between Hill Road and Belcher’s Street; and
- Belcher’s Street between Queen’s Road West and Collinson Street.

     Hill Road between Queen’s Road West and Pokfulam Road will be closed from 1.45pm to 2.30pm.

B. Traffic diversions

     Traffic along westbound Queen’s Road West heading for Praya, Kennedy Town must turn left to westbound Belcher’s Street from 9am to 1pm.

     The following traffic diversions will be implemented from 1pm to 5.30pm:

- Traffic along westbound Queen’s Road West must turn right to northbound Hill Road; and
- Traffic along northbound Hill Road cannot turn left to westbound Queen’s Road West.

     The following traffic diversions will be implemented from 1.45pm to 2.30pm:

- Traffic along southbound Pokfulam Road cannot turn right to Hill Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Bonham Road cannot go straight to Hill Road.

C. Suspension of parking spaces

     All on-street parking spaces, metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces along Hill Road will be suspended from 11am to 3pm.

(III)

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from 2.30pm until the crowd is dispersed:

- Eastbound Des Voeux Road Central;
- Eastbound Queensway between Des Voeux Road Central and Rodney Street;
- Northbound Tamar Street;
- Westbound Harcourt Road;
- Northbound Tim Mei Avenue; and
- If necessary, first and second right lanes of Garden Road flyover.

     Vehicles may not be permitted to leave car parks along the procession route during the road closure period.

     Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements will be towed away without prior notice.

     Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the Police on site.
