Fatal traffic accident in Airport

About 11.54pm, a taxi driven by a 69-year-old man was travelling along Airport Road towards Airport South Interchange. When approaching the interchange, it reportedly hit a 41-year-old man who was crossing the road. Sustaining head injuries, the man was rushed to North Lantau Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 0.23am.
The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is under way.
