Seventeen valid nominations received for HKADC Nomination Exercise
A spokesman for the Home Affairs Bureau said today (October 26) that a total of 17 candidates had been validly nominated for the exercise of the Nomination of Representatives of Arts Interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) in 2016.

Candidates in the arts interests of Arts Criticism, Arts Education, Film Arts and Chinese Opera (Xiqu) are returned uncontested in this Nomination Exercise. Eligible voters may vote to return the representatives for the other six arts interests, i.e. Arts Administration, Dance, Drama, Literary Arts, Music and Visual Arts for the Chief Executive's consideration of appointment as members of the HKADC for the next term.

Candidates for the respective arts interests are listed in the Annex.

To enable voters to learn more about the candidates of the six contested arts interests, a candidate forum will be organised next Saturday (November 5) from 1pm to 4.30pm at Mong Kok Community Hall, L2, Mong Kok Complex, 557 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok. At the forum, candidates of the six contested arts interests will present their platforms and answer questions from voters.

Polling is scheduled for November 27 and 28. Cross-arts interest voting will continue to be adopted this year. Voters from the 10 arts interests may cast votes for candidates standing for nomination in the six contested arts interests. A list of the nominated representatives will be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next term commencing on January 1, 2017.

The Nomination Agent will send letters containing candidates' platforms of the six contested arts interests to all voters next week. If voters do not receive the letters by the end of next week, please make inquiries to the Nomination Agent on 3791 2286 or 3791 2032. The candidates' platforms can also be downloaded from the website: www.voteforhkadc2016.hk.
