Reporter: Mr Cheung, is the Government looking to introduce new regulations regarding care homes to better protect people with mental disabilities?

Secretary for Labour and Welfare: The Social Welfare Department and also the Labour and Welfare Bureau are very concerned about this case and in fact we have been looking after very well the girl involved in this particular case. She is now being looked after in a subvented home. On the question of improvement measures, we will certainly draw experience from this case and see what measures we can take, both administrative and also in terms of amending the present legislation, in order to make sure that the Ordinance (Residential Care Homes (Persons with Disabilities) Ordinance) fulfils the objectives of protecting the well-being of all people residing in these homes. It is our responsibility. We will certainly pursue this earnestly.
