SCED meets with trade minister of the Philippines (with photos)

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, held a meeting with the Philippines' Secretary of Trade and Industry, Mr Ramon Lopez, in Manila, the Philippines, today (October 5) to exchange views on the Hong Kong, China - ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
      
     At the meeting, Mr So and Mr Lopez discussed the progress of the Hong Kong, China - ASEAN FTA negotiations. Mr So emphasised the role of the FTA in strengthening economic ties between Hong Kong and ASEAN member states, including the Philippines, by facilitating the flow of goods, services and investments.
      
     Mr So also took the chance to brief his counterpart on Hong Kong's latest developments and promote bilateral relations.

     Mr So will return to Hong Kong this evening.
