Attempted murder and attempted suicide in Kwun Tong
     Police are investigating an attempted murder and attempted suicide case in Kwun Tong in the small hours of today (September 3).

     At about 12.55am, Police received a report from a 32-year-old woman that the main door of her unit in Tsui Lok House, Tsui Ping South Estate was locked from inside with a strong smell of gas emitting from the unit. Her husband and son were both inside the unit. Police sped to the scene and, after firemen forcibly opened the door, found her 34-year-old husband and their three-month-old son lying on the floor of the sitting room. They were rushed to United Christian Hospital in conscious state.

     Initial investigation revealed that the man had suspectedly loosened the gas tube of the stove in an attempt to kill himself and his son. He was arrested for attempted murder and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Kwun Tong District is underway.
