Appointments to Mandatory Provident Fund Industry Schemes Committee

Three new members and seven incumbent members were also appointed. All appointments will take effect from August 25, 2016, for a period of two years until August 24, 2018, both dates inclusive.
The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, said he was delighted that Dr Roy Chung, the three new members and the seven incumbent members have accepted the appointments and re-appointments.
"Dr Chung has been very active in public service over the years. He has been a member of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee since 2013, providing recommendations to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) to improve the efficiency of the Mandatory Provident Fund System as well as the operation of the MPFA as a regulator.
"We believe that Dr Chung and the newly appointed as well as re-appointed members will render invaluable advice to the ISC to monitor the effectiveness of MPF industry schemes and to improve their administration and operation," he added.
Professor Chan also paid tribute to the outgoing Chairlady, Ms Li Fung-ying, and three other outgoing members of the ISC. "We are grateful for the contributions of Ms Li Fung-ying, Mr Chan Sam-choi, Mr Chan Wing-on and Ms Monica Ng Chun-sing during their tenure to the work of the ISC."
