Organ donation promotion booth debuts at public hospitals (with photos)
***********************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (July 27) launched the organ donation promotion booth at Queen Elizabeth Hospital as part of its continuous effort to support the Government campaign launched last month aiming to double the number of registered organ donors in Hong Kong from 200 000 to 400 000 this year.

The booth was launched this afternoon by the HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin. Both Professor Leong and Dr Leung appealed to the public to support the organ donation drive.

The HA, in support of the Government's organ donation campaign, is launching a series of activities to promulgate the organ donation messages to HA staff, visitors to hospitals and community partners, with a view to encouraging them to register as organ donors and to further promulgate organ donation messages.

The organ donation promotion booth, which is manned by trained volunteers, will be touring around public hospitals from July to December this year to directly engage staff members and hospital visitors to register in the Centralised Organ Donation Register. Designated souvenirs will be presented to successful registrants.
