"Drum Call" percussion concerts in late July to display boundless creativity (with photos)

Taking centre stage will be 12 young percussionists who can turn everyday items, from cups and wooden stools to an aluminium ladder and even a roll of paper, into musical instruments. In a performance encompassing the xylophone, the marimba, cymbals and African drums, the musicians will display boundless energy and thunderous passion as they showcase a repertoire that includes innovative folk song arrangements as well as percussion classics.
The Ju Percussion Group was founded in 1986 by well-known percussionist Ju Tzong-ching, who is currently the group’s artistic director. It was the first professional percussion group in Taiwan. JPG2, which was established in 1999, embraces a one-of-a-kind youthful vitality and regularly performs especially for children.
"Drum Call" is one of the programmes of the summer festival International Arts Carnival (IAC). Programme details are as follows:
