************************************************************

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, visited a number of creative industries institutions in Seoul as he continued his visit to the city today (March 23) to learn more about Korea's latest efforts in nurturing creative talents and promoting the growth of its creative industries.

He first visited Dongdaemun Design Plaza, the newest and most iconic landmark of the Korean design industry. It houses art and conference halls for holding events including fashion shows and product launches; a design museum and exhibition hall to showcase the work of local designers and the latest design trends in Seoul; design shops and a market where visitors can see a range of different designs and design products; and a history and culture park.

Mr So then dropped by a K-pop dance school. He toured the dance studios and was briefed on the variety of training programmes and workshops for young dancers.

Before concluding his visit, Mr So called at the M Academy, a pop music and performance academy of one of Asia's top entertainment companies, CJ E&M. He met with the senior management of the academy and discussed opportunities for closer co-operation between Hong Kong and Korea in cultivating creative talents.

Mr So will return to Hong Kong tonight.
