Police meet with Lee Po on the Mainland

     Hong Kong Police Force was notified by the Interpol Guangdong Liaison Office of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department yesterday (February 28) that Lee Po agreed to meet with Hong Kong Police. Two officers of Hong Kong Police and Immigration Department met with Lee Po alone (altogether three persons) and took statement in a guesthouse room on the Mainland this morning (February 29).

     Lee Po told the officers of Hong Kong Police and Immigration Department that:
(1) with the assistance of friends, he returned to the Mainland by his own means voluntarily and it was not an abduction, but he refused to disclose other details;
(2) he was free and safe on the Mainland at the moment. He stated that he was assisting in an investigation of a case relating to a person surnamed Gui and would return to Hong Kong when the matter was resolved;
(3) he requested Police to cancel his case and stated that he did not require assistance from the Special Administrative Region Government. He also requested Police not to make public the location where he was staying.

     Hong Kong Police have already informed Mrs Lee Po about the meeting with Lee Po and will continue to follow through with the case.

     Regarding a report about a person surnamed Gui and three missing Hong Kong persons, Police are requesting the Interpol Guangdong Liaison Office of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department to confirm and further understand the details.
