The Civil Engineering and Development Department today (December 4) signed a contract of about $1,947 million with CEC - CCC Joint Venture for the Kai Tak Development - Stage 2 Infrastructure Works for Developments at the Southern Part of the Former Runway.
The main objective of the works is to provide essential infrastructure to support the planned developments for residential, commercial and other specified uses at the southern part of the former runway in the Kai Tak Development Area.
The contract mainly comprises realignment and widening of the existing Shing Fung Road, construction of associated roads as well as an elevated landscaped deck and noise barriers along the realigned Shing Fung Road, upgrading of an existing road on the Kai Tak Bridge, improvement to three existing road junctions in Kowloon Bay, and associated ancillary works including footpaths, street lighting, traffic aids, drainage, sewerage, water mains, district cooling mains and landscaping works.
The works commenced on November 30 for completion in phases from 2017 to 2019.
