The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will visit Singapore and Brunei from July 23 to 27 (Thursday to Monday).
While in Singapore from July 23 to 25, Mrs Lam will officiate at the Spotlight Hong Kong in Singapore event, co-presented by the Fringe Club and the Global Cultural Alliance, and at a gala dinner organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore. She will also meet with senior officials, speak at a business luncheon and meet with Hong Kong people living and working in Singapore.
During her stay in Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei on July 26 and 27, Mrs Lam will meet with senior officials to promote Hong Kong's role as a financial, trading and shipping centre and to enhance bilateral relations. She will also meet with local business leaders and visit a museum.
As Hong Kong is negotiating a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Mrs Lam will take the opportunity of her calls on senior officials in Singapore and Brunei to seek their support for an early conclusion of the Hong Kong-ASEAN FTA.
Mrs Lam will return to Hong Kong in the evening on July 27. During her absence, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, will act as Chief Secretary for Administration.
