Public transport services gradually resumed normal after re-opening of roads
*********************************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (December 12) said that the road sections in Central, Admiralty and Wan Chai which were closed while affected by the occupy movement are now re-opened. Bus and minibus routes suspended or diverted earlier due to the road closures are gradually resuming their normal services and original routeings.

Six bus routes which were suspended earlier due to the occupy movement have resumed service while 83 bus routes are also back to their original routeings. Regarding minibus services, 13 routes have resumed normal services and routeings.

The TD reminded members of the public that since some road sections in Causeway Bay are still affected by the occupy movement, Hennessy Road eastbound between Percival Street and Jardine's Bazaar, and Yee Wo Street eastbound between East Point Road and Sugar Street are still closed. This has resulted in the suspension of two bus routes and the diversion or truncation of 53 bus routes. The tram service between Percival Street and Paterson Street is still suspended.

Regarding changes to bus routes, please refer to the following bus companies' websites for details:

For routes of CTB and NWFB: www.nwstbus.com.hk/en/uploadedFiles/OC2014/TAA.htm.

For routes of KMB: www.kmb.hk/en.

As there will be updates on bus services from time to time due to traffic changes, members of the public are advised to pay attention to the latest service arrangements announced by bus companies before starting their journeys.
